EMOTIONAL SELF- AWARENESS
Self-awareness explores a clear understanding and knowing our own emotions, thoughts, motivations and our personality in general. As for myself, I have noticed that I tend to the negative emotions more. I position “anxiety” at the top of the list of emotions I am often aware of.
I continuously feel nervous when I embark on a new journey or face my fears. This emotion is triggered when I sense that I am out of my comfort zone. For example, I always get anxious meeting high management or new manager, facing my fears, or even getting lost when driving on new roads. My body reacts by tensing up and my heart rate increases. My initial inner-thoughts will always be thinking about the positive outcome of what I am going through, but eventually my negative thoughts dominate.
On the other hand, happiness and sadness are emotions I realized that I unconsciously associate with my family and loved ones. Upon recalling my memories, most of my happy moments are linked with family events and gatherings. And yet, the same people trigger my sad emotions. Therefore, my family has a great impact on my emotional reactions.
Overall, my negative emotions tend to stick out among the other emotions. I am more aware of them and the positive ones.

SELF –REGARD
This part is about acknowledging and accepting my abilities and traits; which will essentially lead to a healthy self-regard. The course assessment helped me to better understand myself esteem level. As a result, I found out that I have the tendency to appreciate myself and feel like my positives outweigh my negative aspects.
My positive aspects (strengths) are my ambitious personality, optimistic nature, and being a risk taker. This means stepping out of my comfort zone because it helps me to learn and face my fears or perceptions. Being in both employee and student positions itself requires a huge effort and commitments. I challenged myself to manage my time between work duties and studies and I was impressed of how far I can reach with true commitments and determination to achieve my goal. This shows that nothing is impossible if I focused on the target!
My negative traits and weaknesses are my emotions (caring side) & delaying works. It is an aspect that I dislike in myself sometimes, but still trying to overcome them. Recently, I started to practice saying NO to what I don’t want regardless the emotion impact of the other person.

SELF-ACTUALIZATION
“According to Maslow, self-actualization is a process by which individuals may ascend a hierarchy of needs that is linear as opposed to dialectical. The higher levels of this hierarchy are reached by psychologically robust and healthy self-actualizing individuals.” Reitan, A. (2013, January 8).
Personally, I prefer spending most of my time alone, followed by family, friends and work or college time. Although I am unsatisfied with the time division, I have been working on improving it lately.
With regards my hobbies and interests; I always pursue them during vacations. One of my ultimate passions is travelling and exploring new things. This passion level reached to do prior research on the visited country to know more info so I can adapt to its culture and identify the most interest places.
Travelling all over the world is one of my short-term goals to achieve.
